Our Team

Sara oversees all of the practices in the group to ensure they are delivering the quality services our patients expect. She works with each of the practice managers in their day to day roles of practice management.

Sara is also a fully qualified dental nurse and can sometimes been seen covering for staff absence in the surgery, nursing or on the reception welcoming patients to the practice.

Sara firmly believes that all team members should be willing to ‘roll up their sleeves and do whatever is necessary to ensure we provide a continuous quality service to our patients’.

Anne-Marie has been at Expressions Dental Care since 2003.

She started off as a receptionist and has progressed with her career to become Group Practice Manager and is responsible for the day to day running of the practice.

Anne-Marie is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and strives to ensure you receive the best possible care in a warm and friendly environment.

She monitors the continuing professional development of all staff members and ensures we stay compliant with all government bodies.

Outside of work Anne-Marie’s time is mostly spent with family and friends, enjoying going out and visiting new places.

Dr Avi Patel qualified from the University of Leeds in 2016 with a Distinction in Dental Surgery.

Since graduating he has worked in practices in Birmingham, Shropshire and Bedfordshire as well as undertaking a year of surgical training at New Cross Hospital.

Dedicated to postgraduate training he has gone on to achieve a Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS).

Avi enjoys providing a wide breadth of dental services, treating patients in a caring and calm manner to ensure a relaxed environment within the surgery.

Hi I’m Carmen.

I initially qualified as a dentist in 2000 at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest. After running my own practice for 10 years I moved to Derbyshire and commenced practicing here in 2010.

I have a keen interest in aesthetic dentistry and enjoy working with patients improving their smile and as part of my ongoing development in this area have trained in Bioclear, SmileFast Makeovers ,latest techniques in bonded composites and cosmetic dentistry. I also provide Invisalign Go clear Aligner System to enable me to offer my patients the best in Aesthetic Dentistry.

Outside of work I love to Scuba dive and have recently taken up skiing – my first trip to the Alps is planned in 2023.

Laura qualified from Cardiff University Dental School in 1998 and is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy with almost 25 years experience!

Laura is dedicated to providing excellent quality dental care focusing on the prevention and treatment of gum disease (periodontitis)

She has completed advanced courses in periodontology to ensure that the latest techniques and developments are always adhered to.

Laura has also undertaken a course in tooth whitening and facial aesthetics.

Hi, I’m Gemma!

I joined the practice back in 2005 as an apprentice, and have not looked back!

After qualifying as a Dental Nurse in 2007, I worked closely with our dentists for many years until I became a mummy to my 2 children. I then moved in to my role as the practice treatment co-ordinator.

As a treatment coordinator, I’m in a lucky position, to be able to work closely with all members of the dental team, and our new and existing patients.

But… what is a treatment co-ordinator? I will be the patient’s primary point of contact, booking appointments, providing consultations, guiding them through their treatment options and working directly with our clinicians to create a bespoke treatment plan.

I will welcome you into our patient lounge, as a place to chat in a peaceful setting that does not feel clinical in the slightest.
All consultations with me are complimentary, so if you wish to arrange this, or just come along for a cuppa and an informal chat, please speak to our reception team.
