Dear Patient,

Following the announcement by the government on 28th May, we are incredibly pleased and excited to announce that we will be re-opening Osmaston Dental Care from Monday 8th June 2020 and Nottingham Road Dental Practice from Monday the 6th of July 2020!

We have had to cancel numerous appointments since the lockdown began 3 months ago and will initially be prioritising appointments for our existing patients who have had dental emergencies or appointments cancelled, in order of urgency. Please do not attend the clinic unless you have an appointment.

At Osmaston Dental Care the most important thing is patient safety and comfort, and that is why we have spent the time of closure upgrading the clinic and introducing the following measures to keep our patients and staff SAFER than ever.

The practice, as you are aware was always a very clean and safe environment. However, we have placed hand sanitisers at entry points, upgraded our PPE and redesigned the patient journey in line with social distancing. We have invested heavily on air filter purifiers for the surgeries and reception areas which are due to be installed over the next few weeks.

We will be booking your appointments to ensure that the Practice and waiting areas are not overcrowded. We will do this by leaving suitable gaps between appointments, making sure that you can attend the practice while maintaining a suitable distance from one another in accordance with government guidelines.
We will also be creating clinics for patients who are most vulnerable, to help minimize contact with others for this group whilst they are at the practice.

To further avoid overcrowding when you arrive at the practice, we ask that you wait in your car or in a safe place outside of the practice until called in. We will notify you via your phone when you should enter the practice. Please follow our guidelines on entering the practice to hand sanitise. We will be conducting pre-screening tests of patients which is likely to include taking your temperature on arrival.

A team member will also be calling you the day before you appointment to complete a Covid-19 questionnaire and discuss with you what to expect when you attend for your appointment. If you are unable to complete your medical history on line at this pre appointment phone call the team can take the details over the phone for you to quickly check when you attend. Unless we have been able to complete this information with you we will unfortunately be unable to see you for your appointment. If you would prefer that we emailed you the questionnaire for you to complete and return prior to your appointment rather than receiving a telephone call then let us know at the time of booking the appointment.

We will ask that you to pay either using a contactless card, online payment method or over the phone. This crucial step greatly reduces touch points at the practice. For the majority of our patients there will be no payments as their treatment will be covered under their Denplan Care contract.

Between all appointments as always, the dental team will thoroughly disinfect the dental surgery, reducing the risk of exposure to anything harmful while you are in our dental chair.
