Sara founded Expressions Dental Care Ltd together with Dr John Gregory in 2011. Sara has been involved in dental business for over 27 years having previously worked for Denplan Care Ltd who are now part of Simply Health for 20 years.
Sara is also a fully qualified dental nurse and can sometimes been seen covering for staff absence in the surgery, nursing or on the reception welcoming patients to the practice.
At home Sara is also busy with her twin sons who are in their first year of university and looking after her horse, dog and cats!!
Rhian Evans Brock
Rhian has been with expressions dental as a practice manager since 2012, managing both Maelor & Lynton Dental Care. Rhian took on the role of Maelor Dental Care’s practice manager from the time we took over the practice in 2012. Rhian qualfied as a dental nurse over 18 years ago and has a wealth of knowledge regarding dental treatment and patient care.
Rhian always likes to make herself available to speak with patients and is always on hand either at the practice or over the phone to chat and answer any patient questions they may have.
Rhian has a grown up son and is looking forward to becoming a grand parent this year. Rhian enjoys travelling with her husband and spending time with her family.
Dr Peter Evans
Dr Peter Evans graduated BDS in December 1976 at The Royal London Hospital and gained the Licentiate in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1977.
He opened The Maelor Dental Surgery in September 1992 with it twice being nominated as Denplan Practice of the Year. He sold it to Expressions in 2012 and now works for them in a part time capacity with his particular interest being paediatric and special needs dentistry.
He has many and varied interests including rugby, Shrewsbury Town FC, travel, wildlife and conservation and promoting live ‘blues’ music. Family time always comes first and he is thrilled that his youngest daughter Catrin has followed him into the profession.
Dr Alison Carter
After qualifying from Bristol, Alison followed a career in general practice, enjoying the technical challenges and meeting and caring for her patients. She has worked as a clinical assistant in orthodontics and as a vocational trainer in the North Wales Training Scheme.
More recently she successfully completed a post graduate qualification in Coaching and Mentoring Level 7 and enjoys her work as a practice advisor for Denplan, working for the Community Dental Service as well as her time spent at Maelor Dental Care.
In her free time Alison enjoys rowing, badminton, yoga and spending time with her family. She is involved in work for the charity Bridge2Aid and travels to Tanzania regularly to deliver dental training.
Dr Gillian Whittingham BDS
Gillian qualified as a dentist 28 yrs ago in Liverpool.
Despite a long and successful career she still enjoys the variety general practice offers. She also especially enjoys enabling patients to make changes for themselves to improve their own oral health.
Outside work Gillian loves spending time with her family, and is always up for a good party!
Rebecca has been working as a dental therapist since December 2013 having trained at the University of Liverpool. Prior to this she worked as a dental assistant in various practices including general practice, orthodontics and within maxilla-facial departments in Northampton. Since qualifying as a dental therapist she has worked in both NHS and private practice.
Rebecca has taken part in several charity runs including a 10km race, managing to raise money for the dental charity Dentaid. On Saturdays she works at a local veterinary practice, and in her own time enjoys playing badminton, running and socialising with friends.
Lynette has been a qualified Dental Nurse for over 25 years and joined the Maelor Dental Care team in 2012. She obtained the qualification in Dental Radiography back in 1998 which she has put to good use as the Radiography auditor for the dental practice.
In her spare time Lynette enjoys spending time with family and friends and love long walks in the country with her husband and 2 dogs. She is also a fan of music, cinema, swimming, the theatre and travelling.
I started as a trainee dental nurse at Maelor Dental Care in February 2017. I have just qualified as a dental nurse and registered with the General Dental Council.
I enjoy all aspects of dental nursing and want to gain more experience and qualifications within the company.
In my spare time i enjoy spending time with family, friends and my boyfriend. We have recently bought our first house together and both enjoy doing jobs in our new home.
We are expecting our first baby in November which will keep me busy.
Trainee Dental Nurse
I started working for Maelor Dental Care in June 2018 as a trainee dental nurse. I am currently in training with the dental nurse training company, Tooth Fairies and really enjoy my training. I assist in the the surgeries with both the dentist or the Therapist.
In my spare time I enjoy travelling and attending music festivals.
Sue has worked as a dental receptionist for over 23 years. Sue enjoys meeting our patients at reception and over the years has watched our younger patient grow up and then bring their own children to the practice.
She has built up an excellent rapport with patients who often come in early for their appointments so they can have a chat with Sue.
In her spare time Sue enjoys going to the theatre and music.
Dawn is a valued member of our team having lived in the village of Bangor on Dee since the late 70’s. Dawne joined the practice in September 1994 and she is a familier reassuring face for our patients.
Orginally hailing from Manchester it goes without saying that she is a huge fan of Man City football club and has been a season ticket holder from many years. Patients often come in and catch up with Dawne regarding the football results.
Dawne enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and travelling when possible.
